The complaints system, in addition to police officers, covers all police staff in a wide variety of roles including:
Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs)
administration, clerical, front counter and reception staff
forensic crime scene investigation and fingerprint staff
designated private sector escort and detention officers
The IPCC, UNISON and PCS have different responsibilities – but we all want the system to be fair, straightforward and clear to members of police staff.
