The IPCC submitted evidence on policing protests ahead of an oral hearing on 12 May 2009. The submission sets out the complaints arising from the G20 protests and other public order events in the context of the complaints system as a whole and identifies some initial emerging themes.

The IPCC submitted evidence in March 2006 on the use of lethal force by the police to Parliament's Joint Committee on Human Rights Inquiry on Counter-Terrorism Policy and Human Rights. The IPCC outlined its role and experience in relation to fatal shootings by the police and called for it to be given greater powers to obtain information and greater discretion over referral of cases to the Crown Prosecution Service. The IPCC responded to the Home Office's consultation on a draft Bill on Corporate Manslaughter in June 2005. The draft Bill is expected to be presented for parliamentary scrutiny during the 2005-6 session.
