This guidance sets out how learning is best formulated and presented in learning reports. It is intended to help police learn from investigations and other operations of the complaints system, putting that learning into practice.
It is directed primarily at IPCC investigators and casework managers but may also be of use to police investigating officers.
Guidance on writing learning reports
This guidance is designed to help those (the IPCC and the police) who are writing the learning section of an investigation report (usually referred to as the learning report).

This is the template to use when writing a learning report.
