The IPCC submitted evidence on policing protests ahead of an oral hearing on 12 May 2009. The submission sets out the complaints arising from the G20 protests and other public order events in the context of the complaints system as a whole and identifies some initial emerging themes.

This is the IPCC's response to Bill Taylor's report (pdf 73.4k) into the unauthorised disclosure of material in relation to the fatal shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes.
Evidence submitted to Joint Committee on human rights inquiry on counter terrorism policy and human rights (pdf 58k)
The IPCC submitted evidence in March 2006 on the use of lethal force by the police to Parliament's Joint Committee on Human Rights Inquiry on Counter-Terrorism Policy and Human Rights. The IPCC outlined its role and experience in relation to fatal shootings by the police and called for it to be given greater powers to obtain information and greater discretion over referral of cases to the Crown Prosecution Service. Response to Home Office Consultation on Corporate Manslaughter (pdf 17k)
The IPCC responded to the Home Office's consultation on a draft Bill on Corporate Manslaughter in June 2005. The draft Bill is expected to be presented for parliamentary scrutiny during the 2005-6 session.
Response to the CRE investigation (pdf 36k)
This is the response to the report of the Commission for Racial Equality's formal investigation into the police service in England and Wales. The response focused in particular on the report's recommendations regarding:
- the police disciplinary system (and the IPCC's role within it);
- complaints made by police officers; and
- arrangements for the inspection of police forces' approach to professional standards.
