Race Equality Scheme

I am pleased to introduce the IPCC’s Race Equality Scheme for 2005-2008. As Chair of the IPCC I want to champion diversity throughout the IPCC and all aspects of its work.

We have spent the last 9 months working on this scheme.  Many people have been involved throughout the IPCC – people doing different jobs, people working in different places, people with different life histories and experiences – as well as people contributing their expertise and experience from outside the organisation.

would like to thank everyone that has been a part of drawing up this scheme – but also remind us all that it is just a starting point.  We have a lot of hard work to do to put our word into practice.  I look forward to working with colleagues within and outside the IPCC to do so.
