Staff makeup by ethnicity
Can we see the information on staff make-up and what is being done?
The IPCC publishes basic
numerical information on staff make-up by ethnicity here, as part of this scheme.
This is updated twice a year. Census information provides a comparison.
The IPCC also monitors by ethnicity applications, training, performance appraisal,
discipline and grievance and people leaving the IPCC. Because the IPCC is a small
organisation it will often not be possible to publish numerical information in these areas
due to the possibility of identifying individuals. The IPCC will include in its annual
progress report on the Race Equality Scheme information about this analysis and actions
taken as a result, and review whether it is able to provide figures on an annual basis.
The statistics below were produced in November 2005 and do not include agency staff,
non executives and consultants. Due to the small numbers they have been broken down in to
the 5 + 1 categories, but a full breakdown can be found on page 42 of our annual report.
Since November there has been a significant amount of recruitment so the numbers will
have already changed, and so the statistics are due to be updated in six months.
