IPCC Research and Statistics Programme

The IPCC research programme supports the long-term aims of the organisation and assists in making its work evidence-informed. Current research studies being undertaken by the IPCC research team include the following:

  • Public Annoyance and Complaining about the Police: findings from the 2006/07 British Crime Survey
  • Public Confidence in the Complaints System
  • Police Related Road Traffic Incidents
  • Police Custody and Mental Health - Police cells as places of safety

The IPCC is also responsible for presenting annual statistics on:
