Police Complaints: Statistics for England and Wales

The below reports present statistics on complaints recorded by police forces in England and Wales for each year since the IPCC assumed responsibility for the publication from the Home Office.

The findings in these reports concern the number and type of complaints made by members of the public and how these complaints were subsequently dealt with.  They also include demographic data on those who made complaints and those who were subject to complaints.  The most recent report covers the financial year 2006/07 and provides more detailed analysis on appeals which were upheld during that year.
