The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating contact between officers from Hampshire Constabulary and a man shortly before he died on Wednesday, 27 June.
The investigation commenced following a mandatory referral from Hampshire Constabulary after officers were requested by the ambulance service to attend an address in Chandlers Ford to assist them with a man who had become unwell.
A 19-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester where he died later the same day.
The investigation is at an early stage and we hope to release further information in due course.
