IPCC response to Home Secretary announcement regarding police integrity
Main Content
12 February 2013
Following the Home Secretary's announcement today regarding police integrity, IPCC Chair Dame Anne Owers said:
"I welcome the Home Secretary’s proposal to strengthen our ability to provide independent oversight of police complaints and in particular to investigate more serious and sensitive allegations within the police service. We will be discussing these proposals with the government as they are developed. The IPCC plays a vital role in securing public confidence in the police complaints system and the integrity of the police service".
