The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is independently investigating the death of a man in Surrey.
At approximately 7am this morning, Tuesday 15 March 2011, officers from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) went to a house on Hillbury Road in Warlingham to make an arrest.
While officers were at the house, it is believed a man suffered a stab wound and died at the scene.
IPCC Commissioner for the south east Mike Franklin said: "We will be looking into the planning of the arrest, the way in which it was carried out and the actions of all the officers who were present at the time of the incident.”
Formal identification has not yet taken place.
The IPCC will issue further information as it becomes available.
