The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is to independently investigate allegations made against Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).
The allegations centre on expenses claims made by Clive Grunshaw before his election in November to the office of PCC.
The matter was referred to the IPCC by Lancashire’s Police and Crime Panel, which scrutinises the work of the PCC, on Tuesday, 18 December, following an article in the Sunday Times newspaper.
Commissioner Nicholas Long will have oversight of the investigation.
