An act of parliament that provides the core framework of police powers to combat crime and provide codes of practice for the exercise of these powers.

Death of lorry driver following detention - Lincolnshire Police

Read information about our investigation into the actions of Lincolnshire Police prior to the death of a man taken into custody after the lorry he was driving was involved in an incident on the A1 at Colsterworth in Lincolnshire on 21 December 2022. The man was arrested at the scene and taken to Grantham Police Station where he collapsed in the custody booking in area. He was taken to hospital but sadly died there that evening.
